Thank you NetGalley for the eARC!

This was a fun book, and a quick read. I was drawn into the to story fairly quickly, and I was eager to get back to it whenever I had to put it down. My only "complaint" about this book is the fact that Amy's family uses British terms in their conversations, on Amy visit back home, in New York. I can believe that Amy would have picked up certain terms and phrasing in the two years that she has lived in London. However, it really bothered me that her family, who have not lived in the UK, were using British phrasing. I would think that an editor, or someone, would have caught this.

This book was ok. It started off strong but I quickly became bored. I couldn't really identify with the main character. I found her to be annoying.

When TV producer Amy Duffy is betrayed by her boss/secret boyfriend and suffers a public humiliation, she flees to London, and finds work at a failing British TV company making trailers. Two years later, when CTV gets bought out, fresh blood is brought in to right the ship and Amy finds herself face to face with her old boss/ex and finds her passion for TV ( and a little revenge )is reinvigorated! A “pitch competition” arises at work, and she is finally ready to get back in there again. Her new neighbor, Jack, a screenwriter who recently faced his own public humiliation, agrees to help her work on her pitch by writing a sample script and sparks fly!

This one was charming! I really enjoyed the banter between the two MC’s and I really enjoyed the side character of Maggie. Lizzy does a wonderful job balancing the cuteness with humor. I think this book would make a super cute rom-com movie! I have previously read the authors debut “The Summer Job” and also really liked it, so if you read it too, then this one’s for you!

AVAILABLE NOW!!

Thank you to G.P. Putnam’s Sons for the ARC, provided through Netgalley.

What happens when you have a massive embarrassing break up with your boyfriend (secret)who is also your boss and you run away to another country to start fresh. Life is great and going smoothly until he shows up at your company. Has he changed or is he still the same jerk? Amy has moved on and started a new life, new friends, and a new potential beau. She starts on a fantastic project with Jake, her new neighbor/ potential beau to prove to herself and to Chris (her ex-boyfriend/boss) and she’s completely changed. Has he? Ups and downs, hard work and romance are a part of Amy’s story and she’s going to prove that is what she’s about, not an embarrassing breakup in NY.
Overall and fun and funny read .
Thanks Net Galley for the advanced copy!
