Good book

This author can write a character. I also read this one in one day because it was good. I have enjoyed meeting all the ones she has come up with so far.

The first book was better for me. This one was still good but was not expecting how the book went.

This was still a live story but there was a lot of pain there too. You get to see them fall in love. Then you see them through the years. That was the hard part to read. I can say I have never read a book like this one.

This is the first book I have read by Jennifer. This was enjoyable from beginning to end. I loved the characters and the chemistry between them. Believe in love at first sight. Is there a magical moment when I know that your life is going to change? Hold on because this book takes you on that ride. I absolutely loved the twists and turns that these two go through to get to that magic moment. This was heart wrenching lovable emotional touching all in one amazing book. Jennifer has gained a fan with this book.

There was magic the first moment they met. Her playing the unsuspecting victim and him playing the white knight. She usually hides in the shadows. Doesn't seek out attention. He is one of the schools star jocks dating the hot cheerleader. There is an instant attraction. Too bad he will be leaving for college soon. There is a lot of selflessness happening in this book. And much of that leads to heartache. With everyone telling them it work work out, and to move on, can they prove that their love can withstand the time and distance or will that be their ruin. Just when you think things will work out for them, it all crashes once again. This has that whole 'If you love it, set it free" thing going on. Both the H/h characters are endearing, lovable people. Neither comes across mean spirited at any point, even when in pain, they only wish the best for the other. As much as it was heartbreaking, it was also heartwarming to see their love for each other. Any sexual content included is more alluded to. Not graphic, and safe for teens and up. I appreciated that aspect of the book. Their relationship wasn't driven by the physical desires they had. While they had some good kissing scenes, it wasn't full of lustful thoughts. As much as I enjoy those steamier reads, often times it feels like sex is the driving force of those relationships. Not the case in this book. The book reads easily and rather quickly. It alternates between the two POVs.

I loved this book and could seriously not put it down. We all have that one high school boyfriend that we always think about, our first real love. Embers first love was Noah the soccer star. She had to keep letting him go due to his soccer career but neither one of them could ever move on from one another. Although they had to spend years apart several times they always found each other again. It was fate from the very beginning. I cannot wait to read book three. Each standalone story so far has been amazing.

I had just finished Our Finest Hour, and was mistakingly expecting the story to continue. Magic minutes is a coming of story with an entirely different couple. While I love Jennifer Millikin's writing, coming of age is not in my cup of tea.
