I didn't read the first Dungeon book but don't think that took anything away from my understanding of the story.
Lucas owns The Dungeon, is a Dom and looks after everyone that comes into his club. Walking home after closing up late one night he stumbles over a, thankfully alive, body.
Zack is the detective assigned to the case. His own feelings get mixed up with his attraction to Lucas and the Dom/Sub scene.
Honestly, I don't feel like I connected that well with the characters. I enjoyed the story and the premise of it. I think I may have enjoyed it a little more if there were more depth and length to the story. There is a couple of supporting characters that throw a couple of interesting surprises in and I was happy with the result of their story but things happen very quickly without that much interaction between the two MC's.
I'm definitely going to read the first book as I'm interested in the beginning of The Dungeon's story.
