This was a 5 star read except the beginning scene. Not even 24 hours after sleeping with OW, does he sleep with Willow. Yes, I know this happens in real life, but the beginning scene left a sour taste.

Loved Willow and her unique job! Photojournalism is not mentioned enough and appreciated seeing the difficult aspects of her job.

This one lost points for inserting an unnecessary dangerous situation (though they all seem to have one of those in this series)

I've been waiting for Dominik. He's wealthy, sexy and swoon worthy. Willow gives him a run for his money. But the chemistry they have is explosive!

I gave this one 4⭐️’s because the damn story made me weepy. The action at the end also had me clenching my fists.

I was a little put off at the very end where Dominik was thinking how she looked sad & it must have been because she couldn’t be In Arizona for the game. Umm, maybe she’s sad because her friends are dead or missing? No, it’s because game.

Every Vengeance has made me look forward to the next. But every next book falls short. I really like The Cold Fury series and this seemed like the same feel (well I know proportionally more of the men’s perspective from what I remember). But it keeps falling short. This one just seemed messy. It didn’t seem extremely fleshed out. I was not along for the ride when the MC decided they were ready for more. And their sexual dynamic couldn’t commit tbh. I just ‘wasn’t buying it.’ I understand this book had two crossovers (I don’t read the special ops or whatever that one is). I did think there was too much time spent on past character explanation when it was not at all relevant. Also, all the men have the same way of thinking and talking which meh usually doesn’t bother me. But here it did. I just felt like the things he thought and did just didn’t match up. It didn’t flow well and the chemistry wasn’t there. Maybe others would enjoy but I feel pretty disappointed that this one just isn’t for me.

Willow and Dominick were an explosive pair. With their pasts I thought some former liaisons would pop out of the woodworks, but the third act situation was much better and made a lot more sense. Willow’s fear of commitment and vulnerability was a great juxtaposition to Dominick’s arc.

Now, on to the the next Vengeance book!
