The author clearly as an ulterior motive in this book: "follow everything I say and you'll be cured" variety. This is highly suspect. The recipes are just ok - there isn't anything "special" about them.

Everything in this book points to a bunch of expensive health programs by Amy Myers. This book even led me to take a free online quiz which didn’t give actual results but instead just told me to read her other book and sign up for a $297 health course with shopping lists, meal plans, etc. I was hoping for actual information about SIBO and Candida overgrowth through the quiz results as was promised in the book. Nope. It was just an advertisement for the products on her website. Granted, her programs seem like they’re helpful, but so much of this information about the Autoimmune Paleo protocol and Leaky Gut is already available for free in other books and websites (complete with shopping lists, recipes and meal plans which Myers wants you to pay for), and the products in her proprietary food line can be found more affordably at local or online natural food stores.

This book did have some good information, but it was already covered in her previous book, The Autoimmune Solution. Even if this was just a straightforward cookbook I don’t appreciate how it calls for ingredients such as “The Myers Way Gelatin ($35)” and “The Myers Way Collagen Protein ($33).” This book left a bad taste in my mouth. I’m glad I got this one from the library!

Good recipes, but there are no citations for her claims.
