Reading the books from the Foundation Universe in order of time is so much more rewarding, having in the past read the series individually and this book as written later after the remaining Foundation books. But in order of time makes so much more sence of some of the episodes and remarks made.

The characters are as full of life as you'd expect Asimov characters to be and the later writing of this book, allows the female characters to take their natural place in the story line. The story line is fast moving and moves around the strange but also oddly familiar world of Trentor, from one city to another, with all the love/hate relations of neighbours that are different from you.

Overall this was a page turner, shame trying to put the review into words has taken so much longer!!

All'inizio quando ho visto che si parlava di Hari Seldon ero molto contenta perchè nel èrimo libro della fondazione ha, a mio parere, avuto un ruolo troppo piccolo per l'importanza che gli viene data per la costruzione di tutti i libri successivi.
Questo libro sicuramente umanizza Hari ma allo stesso tempo questo rovina la sua figura mitica e in generale non ho apprezzato in tutto e per tutto il suo personaggio.
Come solito da Asimov si parla di molte tematiche interessanti ma mi è sembrato che non si andasse ad esplorarle a fondo rispetto ad altri suoi libri.
La trama come sempre è molto buona anche se fino alla fine le avrei dato un punteggio minore ma gli ultimi capitoli sono stati spettacolari.
