what a cute, fun and light read this was. i wasn't expecting too much of the book - a typical enemies to lovers, but NO! it was so much more than that! i absolutely loved the foreshadowing with shay and her father's story and how we got to know some of the side characters better. however, i feel like the whole "diversity thing" was a little too forced, like, the cast was pretty diverse which a liked a lot but it was also not really detailed enough for me at times (e.g. character's sexuality or nationality just being casually thrown in for the feeling of "yeah, i'm on the diversity train, too" — no offense, that's just what it felt like to me). additionally, i'm just not a big fan of the whole miscommunication trope and it kinda annoyed me, as well as the constant mentioning of how tall dominic and how little shay were. i also feel like the side story
with her best friend moving away and bitchimg about seattle which then erupted into a completely overdone and (imo) unnecessary fight with months of no-contact
was annoying and didn't do much for the story and the plot. nonetheless, i liked the writing style (once i got used to it), how the story unfolded and how it ended. i fell for dominic within the first few pages and think this was such a refreshing read that i definitely recommend putting it on your tbr!
