I don't know if I have the words necessary to express how much I loved this book. The chemistry between Dominic and Shay was amazing, and I loved how they became not only romantically involved with each other, but also close friends. I also liked how it took time for them to realize how messed up Kent was - I feel like that's the way it goes in real life sometimes, too. I loved the casual representation in this book as well - it felt pretty natural. This is one of the books that helps you believe in love. I did read this book all in one day, so it was pretty addictive. I absolutely fell in love with Dominic (and his Beanie Baby collection). I liked how Shay's relationship with herself was portrayed. I do wish there had been a little more about Shay's relationship with her mom and Ameena, though - the side characters were all interesting and lovable (except Kent, of course). The premise was pretty interesting - I've seen fake-dating before, but not fake-exes. It's a nice, light-hearted rom-com with some discussion of grief that rounds it out nicely.

I liked it, it was easy to read, a romantic novel, however the end was a bit to sudden for me, but was nice, a lovely happy ending.

This book is just so much fun. The author knows public radio and you can tell; her passion for it shines through and really makes this feel like a slice of real life. Her writing voice is outstanding; rarely boring, very engaging and sexy when it needs to be.

The characters are a bit lackluster, but honestly that’s nitpicking. This is a very sweet romance, comparable to The Love Hypothesis. Where this one is better, is that you really get the full satisfaction of a powerful love confession and seeing the effect it has on each other.

Sweet, sexy and cozy, this is definitely worth picking up!

When I first started reading 'The Ex Talk', I was drawn to the writing style and how the author portrayed the female character. However, I had difficulty with the book from the start because it contained a trope that I don't typically enjoy: an older female dating a younger male. Despite this, I persevered because the setting of the book was fresh and unique compared to other books I've read. Unfortunately, after reading a few more pages, I simply lost interest in the story. I really tried to keep reading, but I found myself rereading the same line for over two hours. Ultimately, I would give 'The Ex Talk' a 3/5 star rating. It had both positive and negative aspects, but the overall story just wasn't for me.

I’m not rating because it was a hard DNF. The main character is annoying and very eye roll worthy. There’s only so many times I can hear the same cringing complaints/ inner monologues about loneliness and jealousy. I love the idea of the story and the enemies to lovers, but I felt like the characters had no chemistry. I just wish I liked this more, bust sadly it was a miss for me.
