A thing that really irritated me:
when Ameena said that she turned down her dream job she because she didn’t want to leave Shay. Sorry what? Does she genuinely think that Shay would turn down her dream job for her? No way, Shay would obviously take it without looking back

Just once I want a romance novel where the guy actually DATES the girl. Is that too much to ask for?

Even though the millenial-isms are a bit heavy handed this had everything I look for in a rom com. V cute

“It’s your typical coworkers turned enemies turned fake exes turned real romantic partners kind of love story.”

I LOVED this book! It was the perfect read; funny, heart-warming, romantic, steamy, deep and so much more. I was so invested in Dom and Shay’s relationship, and their characters complimented each other so well. Idek why but I cried happy tears at this book... multiple times?? I’ve never done that with a book before. Sad tears? Yes, always. Happy tears though...what the hell is even that?

Solomon has an amazing writing style. The way she describes things and frames the story is just *chef’s kiss* and I need 45 more books from her STAT. I appreciated every joke especially the masters jar and the mention of Kevin Jonas. The banter that these two characters had is unmatched.

I want to reread this book every day for the rest of my life. Yes, it’s that good.

P.S. Kent sucked.

I’m always hesitant to read books that are *super* popular because I feel like they never live up to the hype. But this totally did! The characters were great, the conflicts were real and tangible, and the feminist moments felt authentic. It’s so rare that I truly love a female lead in a rom com, they are always too cutesy or too fake, but Shay was a great MC who had real brains and real struggles and I loved that.

Solomon perfectly captures the driven millennial experience in Shay and Dominic as they explore a fake, finished romance and begin the adventure of a new one, all while live on the radio.

Overall, thoroughly enjoyed this book. Obviously I was attracted to Dominic. I liked shay, but wow she really milked being “old” and having public radio as her one personality trait. Super cute book and I love an enemies to lovers trope

3.5 stars - cute easy read with a little bit of drama and some steamy scenes. Very cheesy
