I really didn’t like the romance in this book, nor did I like the love interest Sir Phillip, the only reason I’m giving this book 3 stars is because of the rest of the Bridgertons made a brief appearance, also, I really liked Oliver and Amanda

this is the second book from the Bridgeton series that describes an explicit rape scene between two characters. This one plays it off as: "he was upset and she was a bad wife so it's okay!". It wasn't a very interesting read either. [SPOLIER] Eloise becomes a house wife and Philip continues to be a dick head and has no repercussions for his actions.

If you want to read this because you loved Eloise from the Bridgerton Netflix series (like me), don't do it. This Eloise is not the feminist icon from the show, she is someone who gets sick of being without a husband so goes and gets one (and by "gets" i mean "settles" for one). She choses raising this random mans children over her own happiness and is manipulated into thinking that's her best life by said man.

Did not think any of the books could get worse than the Duke and I, but this book shocked me in more ways than one. The only reason it has a higher rating than one star is because of Eloise and the poor children of Phillip’s. Phillip is a shitty person, shitty character, shitty husband, and to add to that mess an even worse father. Spends the whole book being borderline abusive because he actually has to be a father and raise his children. not to mention him practically being a rapist as well.
uhh the way he has sex with his depressed and miserable wife and tries to spin it into a poor him because he hasn’t had sex in years. Makes no attempt to communicate with Marina, Eloise, or his children. Can barely fight his urges to quite literally whip his children, but is somehow spun as a hero because he stops their nurse from abusing them further.
Poor Eloise deserves so much better than she got in this book.
