Notes: The 2nd in the "The Improbable Meet-Cute" novella series (6 stand-alone novellas released around Valentine's Day 2024), and I just adored it. Both MCs were so cute and felt so real, and I just loved this story. I wanted so much more of it!!

This was so sweet and so good! Short and to the point, but still enough to make you swoon.

I went and bought Abby Jimenez books after this!

Holly's grandmother is dying but there's a mysterious man leaving notes on her car and helping her deal with the grief. But will she ever meet him in person?
This was a cute quick read, but not as lighthearted as I would have liked. I did love Grandma's secret and her last message to her granddaughter. I think a book about the grandma's life would be a good read!

This story somehow manages to straddle a line that has cute and hopeful on one side and sad melancholy on the other. This is a new-to-me author so I’m unsure if this is her usual MO, but it works here.

Both Holly and John are thoughtful people. They “meet” due to a misplaced Valentine and correspond strictly through little notes on Holly’s car. It’s very sweet how John feels a need to make sure he didn’t offend Holly and also has an urge to take care of her. To be fair, John seems to have the urge to care for anyone around him…it’s in his nature. With Holly being a hospice nurse, these two are great for each other.

Even without significant time on the page together, this story is a wonderful short story. I still felt their connection and was rooting for them to find happiness.

It’s a fast read but manages to contain all of of my most favorite (very specifically) Abby Jimenez tropes!
Of course there is a dog 😉

The Audiobook is outstanding, but as this is a Kindle exclusive, is only available on Audible.
