My expectations for this were so incredibly high that I really don’t think it was possible to live up to. I had a fun time, but the feeling that something else is up pervades the entire book and kept me from getting completely invested. Extreme spoilers below

I hate that the story we experience through Alex is not the truth. I don’t mind the idea that she set everything up and killed all her friends, but I would’ve much rather read that story than the fake one she tells to the cops. And I get that her family needed the money, but how exactly did that play into her directing career? just because she could afford to bribe someone at the school? that’s only going to get her so far and seems like a weak reason to kill all her friends. And how did that tie in to suppressed woman and #metoo and the patriarchy? Seems like an undeveloped plot point.

It just had a lot but nothing going on. The first half of the book seemed to be about them being rich. Then the second half started off good but quickly became the author trying to do every twist possible.
But it was actually all a lie by the main character. It also wasn't believable.
I did like the structure of the interview and the set notes. I also loved the cover.

I liked the twist and the idea of the story overall, but the characters were underdeveloped for me. Like there were interesting aspects of them but they were mostly pretty flat. There was so much I wanted expanded on but it felt a lot was left out to keep the image of intrigue. It was def a good atmospheric book and I enjoyed the addition of interviews and articles sprinkled at the end of the sections like a multimedia type of deal. I would've def ranked this higher if the characters weren't so bland. The story and idea is there! The characters are just the letdowns. this was truly a gaslight gatekeep girlboss revenge story. Loved that aspect of it. Like yes girl get that revenge! A little murder and lying is okay as a little treat! Could've been a 5 star if the characters weren't just "pretty, commanding jock. Rich, pretty influencer girl. Nerdy, organized girl. Music boi. Art hoe. Obsessing over mc best friend. And main girl facing family/financial struggles" art hoe had so much potential that I feel like it was wasted. Jock, influencer, and obsessed bff also had potential that was wasted. Ugh so much potential for them all to have more interesting deaths than interesting lives

Group of teens go to Vlad Draculs castle to make a film - they start getting killed off - the teens read like real teens (angst, bad decisions, stereotypical high school hierarchy)- this story moved quickly for me and I enjoyed the twists -

Go Hunt Me is an interesting book with a great plot twist. I went into this novel thinking it would be about one thing and turned out to be something completely different, but it was not in a good way.
I REALLY wanted to love this book. The cover is absolutely gorgeous, so I know I had to read it. I did enjoy all the descriptions of Romania and felt like I was transported there with the characters. I did like the overall premise of the novel, but it fell short for me in the execution. [I went for this book thinking I was in for a good vampire horror and there was not even one vampire in the book! (hide spoiler)]. Go Hunt Me starts out on the slower side but does pick up about halfway through and then it is hard to put it down.
I did find the characters to be very one dimensional and the cliched spoiled rich kids, so I didn't really connect to any of them.
