I’ll just say that Blake Crouch has improved a lot as a writer. I’ve enjoyed a lot of his later stuff, but I was not enjoying this.
I think a big problem was the flashbacks. They absolutely killed the tension and didn’t seem to add a lot to the story. Maybe it makes sense later, but as soon as I started getting engaged he went to the past.

Great read
Another great novel. Love the back and forth from present day to the past to tell the story. Highly recommend if you are a fan of the author

Definitely a page turner, but holy shit??? Legitimately the darkest, most depressing book I've ever read. If you want a Rocky Mountain ghost town slasher where almost no one's story has a happy end, this one's for you.

Meh, just did not connect with this early work of his despite loving many of his other books. And the description is sensationalized compared to the story.
An enjoyable and interesting read. I did find it a little difficult to follow at times, switching between timelines and viewpoints. However, that could be more down to the fact that I can was listening to the audio book when I was tired.
The description of this book is wholly misleading. I was interested initially but there are way too many plot holes to even consider this somewhat of a success. I've really liked 2 books by this author but this one just didn't measure up.
