It wasn’t good. I have really enjoyed other Blake Crouch books (Recursion, Dark Matter, Upgrade, and the Wayward Pines trilogy), but this book isn’t worth it. The characters aren’t interesting, the plot is slow going, and even the action seems boring.

Very intense – "Someone’s neck is always one step away from being slit", our “What is said now is not exactly what will be done next”.
Intrigue, betrayal, mystery and loads of intensity. It leaves us wanting to know what is going on or who we could believe.

Blake Crouch's imagination seems to be clouded here by old photos and reports. In a tougher era to survive.

At the end of the audio book there is one more short story “On the Good, Red Road”. This one is equally monstrous. I don't know the reality of the harshness of living in the vastness of an icy mountain… the description given is terrible.
