I absolutely adored this book. Talia Hibbert restored my love for reading with this story. I wasn't able to put it down, and managed to finish it in one sitting. Ruth and Evan were both characters I sympathized with for different reasons. She did a great job writing them, making it easy for me to love them. Their grumpy and sunshine dynamic is one of the best I have read as they were perfect for each other despite being opposite. The book has a few spicy scenes that were well-written and very fitting for the story. Their love and friendship felt organic while the suspense kept me dying to know the truth. All of the characters have a lot of depth to them, even the side characters. There was plenty of character development in this short novel, so the ending felt complete and satistying.
Read this directly after [b: The Kiss Quotient|36199084|The Kiss Quotient (The Kiss Quotient, #1)|Helen Hoang|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1527983633l/36199084._SX50_.jpg|57828311], which is also about a woman with ASD - and I much prefer this one in terms of writing and story development.
Well, it's morning now and I've got a quiet office all to myself and steaming cup of coffee, with what others may consider too much cinnamon (no such thing in my book), so it is review time.
This was a sweet story with a pinch of intrigue - which every small town has. Set in Ravenswood, a tiny town in England where everyone knows everyone's business, Ruth Kabbah is the town outcast because of events two years prior. But when this hot army new comer moves in next door she's forced to deal with things she's been avoiding.
This is a super easy read. It starts off strong and it never really let's you go until you're in the epilogue. I recommend this to anyone who is itching for some romance.

I didn't particularly like or dislike this book. I did really enjoy Ruth's growth throughout the book and I loved how Evan drew her out, met her where she was at and eventually showed his love to her.
The writing style is not my favorite (but I recognize that's a personal preference). As much as I am for redemption, I also wish that there had been more justice served to some of the women who had made Ruth's life awful.

I didn't like it or the character interactions as much as other Talia Hibbert books. It was a decent story for the mood I was in.
He had me at Shepherd’s Pie, and she had me at alien desk sex (even though I don’t read alien romance books lol). Evan and Ruth are simply spectacular and I couldn’t love them or their book more!
A really sweet, simple romance with a heroine who knows the value of cocoa butter. Very sex positive without going for shock value, which is refreshing.
One person caused a lot more drama than was necessary.
