This was not good, but it was entertaining enough that I finished it. I really like that it's a fantasy romance with non-white, queer leads. But the writing could have benefited from a copy editor to catch typos and the science stuff did not make any sense to me.

CW: Sexual Content, Blood, Violence, Cursing, Implied Dub-Con because this is an Omegaverse book but NOT(!) between the main couple
3.5 / 5 Stars
I wasnt sure about this book at first, since this is an Omegaverse book and Im usually anything but a fan. And yet, something about the book was speaking to me, so I decided to take the risk, already expecting to be dissapointed. But then ...the book kinda didn't?
You see, I have issues with most Alpha/Omega dynamics cause they are soaked in dub-con /non-con vibes and that's my personal line of discomfort that I hate to cross. So when it was clear that that element wouldn't be present I visibly relaxed, opening myself up to Omegaverse slowly, one page at a time. The way Betas get treated was kind of more explored than I thought - more would have been cool of course - especially when it came to expectations and love life.
The book kind of flew by and before I knew it, I was already done.
The two main leads have nice chemistry and while it was a very sexual book, it wasn't as bad as I feared. Maybe they werent always the most healty couple - communication is key my girls - but they tried and got better along the way.
The plot made me laugh a bit because it was very heavily sidelined in favour for the love to bloom, just for the book to end very cheesy and fluffy and maybe a bit - or a lot - more romantic than the build up we get beforehand.
The ending is also my biggest complaint , kinda, but I cant say more without spoiling stuff.
The world is nice, the inter-personal conflict is also nice and the relationship is cute. But the story lacks the final 'umpf' if you know what I mean.
I'll give it 4 goodread stars though because I feel like it.
Final Thoughts:
Nothing too deep, but a nice quick read for sure.
