Was not expecting this to be my favorite of the series so far, but I was happily surprised that this was just the right thing at the right time for me. Was it ridiculous that
Gamache arranged his confrontation with Brebeuf in one room of the Hadley house and the murder case reveal in another?
Yes. Do I get the inclusion of poetry any more than I have in previous installments? No. Did I eat it all up? Yes.

I love this series! The mysteries are slowly revealed, it’s not a thriller but well thought out. The characters are all very different but likable for all sorts of reasons. I’m looking forward to the next in the series.
