Part of the Lumberjanes 'verse. I, of course, enjoyed the characters and the overall storyline with the robot butlers. Because: robot butlers.
The illustrations were great but I am confused on the stylistic choice to keep the palette so neutral. To each their own.
I will still never get over the "Holy Audre Lordes!" just because it seems kitschy.
This volume included an excerpt from the original "Beware the Kitten Holy" and the illustrations are sooooooo childish!! Story, as always, is great. :)

An entire graphic novel Lumberjanes, with Mal and Molly at the centre of it! This is just the kind of hijinks I expect from this series, with a Molly subplot. It is mostly black and white, with green highlights. Overall, cute, fun, and left me wishing it was longer!

3.5 like the other one. I’m thinking once you’ve read one Lumberjanes, the rest are pretty much the same, which is totally fine for those who find a love of a series and want to read as much as they can about it. #MaverickList

This is a stand-alone graphic novel and is such a great and easy read. Lumberjanes is one of my favorite comics and I loved the twist on the artwork in this book. Can’t recommend this book and the Lumberjanes series enough.

The cover of the book caught my eye but the plot was also fun and sweet. I wouldn't mind reading the older volumes of this series. The characters are also likeable.

Reading 2019
Book 102: Lumberjanes Original Graphic Novel: The Infernal Compass by Lilah Sturges-Polternik

Continuing with some banned books from last week, found this on a list of best banned YA graphic novels. There is a series, but this volume is a stand alone edition.

The story is of a groups of girls at a camp, two of the girls are in a budding relationship. They are worried about how their relationship will affect the larger group of friends. On a hike, girls start to disappear in the woods. There is a lesson to be learned, and a happy ending to realize.

I did not enjoy this book, maybe the series is better. I thought the friendship lesson was forced, like being hit over the head. Not one of the favorite graphic novels I read this month.
