Meh. I ended up listening to this book and thought the narrator read wayyyyy too slow. It was a PROCESS to get through it. Story was ok, I didn't love the main character. I've heard great things about Dessen's other books so I'm looking forward to picking up another one.

Saint Anything is one of the most exquisitely and delicately crafted novels I have ever read. Sarah Dessen has such an intricate way of writing that holds your attention, and the characters within this story are so gripping and go through extensive character development. I really enjoyed the Saint aspect of the story, it added another element of to novel making it. an amazing contemporary. The ending to this story was one of the best endings I've ever read, and it wrapped up beautifully. A new favorite of mine, I hope to read more of Sarah Dessen's work in the future.

I really really liked it.
Except her family, the parents need to do right by her by her, I mean you need to notice how uncomfortable your kid is around someone, I think it's basic parenting!
But I truly enjoyed Sidney, Layla, Mac, Irv and even Eric

Once again I am blown away by Dessen. This book threw so many curve balls at me and made me feel so many strong emotions that I really felt like I was apart of the story myself. The character development was a ten and the story in general was emotional and at times heart breaking. These are the most feelings I have felt while reading a book this whole year. I knew this story would upset me so I was of course hesitant (like I always am with these kind of stories) but I gave it a chance because Dessen is my favorite author and because this novel had really good reviews. I'm so glad I took a chance on this one. It really should have been a no brainer. Not to spoil anything I won't go into too much detail but I will say that I really wish I had the friendships that Sydney makes in her story. Such strong bonds even through the hardest of times.

3.5! I LOVEDDD mac. The band portion
Of the book was so fun.
I think the father could have had a more present role overall..
Ames switching up like that was expected but I feel like the scene was so rushed..? Like everything went down within three pages.. and then we kind of forget about it. Also WHAT made the mom begin to lose trust in Ames?? We just had a hint at her slowly starting to distrust him and then woo he’s kicked out of the house…
We should’ve seen Peyton. I feel like we didn’t get to know his character enough.
Everyone needs a Mac in their life. Quiet and protective boyfriend had me kicking my feet.
Easy read, slightly on the longer side however. I think it could’ve been cut to 350 pages.. the amount of focus French fries got was just.. unnecessary. I skimmed those scenes respectfully
Overall, great book to get out of a reading slump. Easy and predictable with a happy ending, fluffy and cute.

really heavy but necessary topics to handle. the ending kind of ran away from me and felt a little rushed. it was fine for me.
