A delightful little essay collection! I came out of this with enough weird facts to make me at least 25% more annoying at parties which is all I really want to be
dark informative slow-paced

This book had potential but I think it covered too many topics that it spread itself too thin. The writing wasn’t great and I felt that it tried too hard to incorporate humor. I did learn some interesting facts but also found myself tuning out from the audiobook several times.

A fascinating collection of topics, each one worth their own independent study.  From decaying bodies to peeing in the pool, swallowing slugs, and psychopathic behavior.  I particularly found the secretions and bugs to be the most interesting, and now I have a bunch of my own research to do.  I'll likely refer back to this book quite often. Glad I purchased a copy!

My second read for The Morbidly Curious Book Club and most of these articles were FASCINATING! Body decomposition, insects, secretions and execrations, so many taboo topics that are so interesting explained. Really enjoyed how the articles were laid out in each section of the book too because it makes it easy to skip an article if you aren’t feeling it. All in all, as a former scientist myself I loved this blunt and bold approach to what most often people see as gross topics.
