The Arrangement is an erotica novel that exists outside the will-they-won’t-they trope that a lot of other novels in this genre rely on. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a sucker for these stories, but I found Ayers novel to be incredibly refreshing.
Michelle, or Elle, is your run of the mill office worker who has a serious problem living in reality. She vividly fantasises about having a sexual relationship with her boss on a number of occasions and as such she sometimes blurs the lines between reality and fantasy.
This book was fantastic and certainly sets itself apart from other erotica novels I’ve read. I loved these characters and the development of Elle’s psyche is a really interesting plot line that kept me hooked throughout.
