Will Dean’s 4th outing with Tuva Moodyson, journalist at the Gavrik Post, in a remote Swedish town of the same name. It’s always a pleasure to return to the characters in this series.

Tuva has been promoted to Deputy Editor, widening her patch to covering the local hill town of Visberg. As she tries to get to know the locals, there is a brutal murder which brings the worst out in the finger-pointing locals. The creepy town is filled with odd folk and strange rituals which keep the tension high and the story dark.

A hugely enjoyable read although I do feel that some of the weird characters and kooky traditions detract from the overall books. Be ready for a thoroughly tense last 1/4 of the book which maintains momentum all the way to the end.
