An outstanding book by an author I wasn't overly impressed with due to his manic writing style. Eventhough it's fiction if what is told is 1/10th of the atrocities that were happening it's heartbreaking. An absolute must-read!

Really cool story. I didn't know this was a true story until I picked it up off my shelf! It did drag on for quite a while so I give it three stars.

Content is heavy, with some innocent musings and African history sprinkled throughout. If you don't like details, then this book isn't for you. If you want to go on a journey, then be in it for the long haul. But be prepared for your heart and faith to break over and over under the weight of a never-ending string of cruelties.

I don't even remember when I started listening to this. It took months. When the choices were listening to election news or hearing about boys dying from violence, disease, and starvation, can you blame me?
I'm glad I read it. I won't read it again.
