The artwork in these books is simply stunning, in such a cozy, inviting way that makes me want to live in this world!

As with the first book, I'm so impressed with the diversity and representation within these pages. We get to see Erik and Hesekiel again (in their younger years), our main protagonist Rinn is NB/genderfluid, there's amazing Deaf rep with accurate ASL being used by the villagers, lots of beautiful POC, and even hijabi rep

This installment acts as a prequel to the first of the series, introducing us to several characters earlier in their lives. This edition was extra lovely due to the inclusion of a D/deaf character and her supportive community that learned sign language to help her feel included.
