I got used to being behind on the comic book world. There are too many events that have happened before, it's ridiculous to expect simple origin stories.
Heeeeeeeeeey, lookie here, it's an origin story.
And it's a fantastic one. Well placed in this series, I didn't see it coming. All of the talk of the Red Hood, and who that (may have?) turned out to be. The introduction of Riddler, and how Jim Gordon got involved.
Fantastic.

Different take on this story. Liked parts of it, didn't care as much for other aspects.

after reading, one question came to mind:
• do we even really know who red hood one really is in any future issues?
like the last 3 volumes, i love this.
who was batman before he became batman? what events triggered him to wear the cowl and fight for Gotham?
you'll get those answered here.

Once again, new 52 Batman is pretty damn good! I think I still prefer year one over this, and this might be the weakest book in this run so far for me but it’s still really great! I love this version of the red hood gang especially

I do think this didn’t quite have the punch that vol 3 did, but I loved it in a different way.
Red hood was fun, I like the way he was just slightly larger than life at the end.

Pretty good but different
Batman has so many origin stories but I guess it’s fun to reimagine from time to time. I’ve enjoyed Scott Snyder’s storytelling in the issues I’ve read by him.

This was fantastic! Couldn't put it down! This had a lot more substance than the last collection I read (Justice League: Origin), and the story itself was very interesting and fast paced. I also liked the art. They could have made it very dark but they still managed to make it feel gritty while keeping a lot of color. I'm reading these in the order recommended by comicbookherald (now anyway, I started with JL Origin and am backtracking lol), so I'm reading them in chronological order rather than publication order, and so far I'm liking it!
