Chelsea and Mayson are amazing. Chelsea has come home and taken a nursing post to be nearer her family. Mayson is Ethan's friend and has had a terrible upbringing with an abusive father. When he is near to death after being tortured for 5 days Chelsea saves his life and nurse's him back to health.
I was on the edge of my seat throughout most of this book and couldn't wait to finish it to find out what happened.
I love this series and Natasha Madison hasn't disappointed with this book.

What a beautiful, emotional, mystery twist of a story. Natasha- you did it again with your beautiful words. Chelsea, a badass who can handle anything, even if it means putting her in harms way. Mayson believes he has nothing going for him and can never have anything. I felt like my heart couldn't take anymore of their story, but boy did they make me fall in love with them.

Southern Heart is the most aptly named book because this book is all heart, the people we carry in our hearts, grandparents, parents, siblings, and especially that person that burrows deep inside your heart so profoundly that even years apart doesn’t diminish the intensity in how that person can make your heart beat faster with a simple glance.

Chelsea moved back home after receiving a degree in nursing. She’s sassy, stubborn, and all heart. I feel like her becoming a nurse was kismet. She's a natural caregiver and I honestly adored everything about her character.

Mayson stole a piece of my heart the very second he enters the story. To say he’s had it rough would be a gross understatement. He may have distanced himself from people in the past but when he showed up in town with Ethan he became an intricate part of this family I love so dearly. He’s more than he believes himself to be and Chelsea is just the woman to make him see that his heart is ready to love, and to be loved.

The chemistry between Chelsea and Mayson is palpable every page gives you the feeling that their hearts are so ornately connected that one’s heartbeat gains strength from the other and when one is weak the other will work twice as hard until they are once again beating in unison.

Southern Heart immediately pulls you back into The Southern world that Natasha Madison has created, it feels like a visit with family. Beautifully written, a riveting blend of exhilarating chemistry, everything from heartwarming to heartbreaking feels, spine-tingling suspense, meddlesome family members that lighten the heaviness with witty banter, and a whole lot of heart.

The first chapter of this book sucked me in, and I was so excited to read the rest of the book. Unfortunately, it relied on a lot of stereotypes and tropes that aren't my favorite and so there wasn't a lot in this book that worked for me. I'm getting tired of the sheltered virgin heroine and the jaded older hero that is "rewarded" with her virginity. Are there times where a version of this works? Absolutely. (When it's not steeped in so much patriarchy.) It just didn't work for me in this particular book. And too much of the plot was over the top, in my opinion. The heroine vacillated from strength/maturity to an almost insulting level of weakness/immaturity, which gave me whiplash. As much as I wanted to like this one, it just really fell flat for me.

Mason probably has one of the most difficult upbringings compared to the other characters we've read about in the series so far. He has a horrendous encounter with his father who he never thought he would see again and that leads him to showing up on Chelsea's doorstep bloody and beaten. Chelsea never expected to see Mason again and definitely not in the state he's currently in. Thankfully she's the right woman for the job since she's just passed her nursing degree and knows exactly what Mawson needs.

Natasha has written a steamy romance with a tragic story. Southern Heart brings a chill factor to it when it comes to Mason's father. He's definitely not the finest character. Mason protects Chelsea with all his being even when she wants to understand what's going on but as per usual fashion, the men in this family are alpha holes through and through.

Chelsea is coming back home looking to start her life what she doesn’t expect to find is a bleeding Mayson at the door clinging to life. Chelsea helps Mayson heal but as they learn who done this to him and the danger, they are in she becomes scared for him. She has loved Mayson for years just wanting him to see her for her and not his best friend’s little sister, what she doesn’t know is he has been trying to fight his attraction to her. Mayson doesn’t feel like he is worthy of someone as sweet and innocent as Chelsea, but she tries her best to get him to see what she does. She sees to his heart and all the good deeds he does, but it isn’t easy when all he knows is what he has endured. The attraction between them is so tangible that it bleeds off the pages and I was dying for them to finally give in but could understand Mayson’s reservation because he has never been loved the way he deserves. This book had me crying one second wanting to hug Mayson and help him see his beauty and the next it had me hurting for the life he was dealt. The author grips you emotionally and you never want to let go, the side characters from previous books are all still amazing and the new ones are going to be epic as well. I can’t wait to see what happens in Willow and Quinn’s story, I know it will be just as emotional and heart stopping.
