Courier was something that happened to people. A disaster, an assassin, not a blessing.

This was an interesting little short story. A young woman/clone in a post apocalyptic landscape working for her sinister creator infiltrates another settlement, and finds herself getting closer to a particular inhabitant. The world-building was definitely unique. I sometimes complain about authors dumping a lot of info into your lap right off that bat and well. That certainly wasn't done here. We're given pieces of information, but sparingly, and some things about this world you just have to figure out yourself as you read. I much prefer this to the alternative (a bunch of exposition) but I did find myself wishing that things were just a smidge clearer. The lack of explanation, combined with a sometimes unclear narrative and writing style, made this a little frustrating tbh?

But again, the story was unique, I was into the the romance (such as it was; this is pretty short so we didn't get much) and I did enjoy a lot of the writing. The message of the overarching theme and the conclusion were both very satisfying.

3.5 stars. I found myself wishing for more than we got, but all told it was a pretty intriguing sapphic story.
