The third book in the Dandelion Dynasty follows multiple plot lines as Liu sets everything up for the conclusion in the final book. So I knew that this series was intended to be a trilogy but then Liu released there was too much to fit into one book. This book reads like that. I think that there are certain sections of the book that are added to just pad it out so that all the books are of a similar length. Now that is not to say that this book is bad but I do think that it is the weakest of the series so far. I think that the climax is weak especially compared to the previous two books. Now all that being said, I think part two of this book might be my favorite sequence in the series so far.

The science is fascinating still but I think there were certain leaps in technology that just felt insane
(I mean they created instant pots, conveyor belt sushi, and roller coasters in the span of a few months)
. Overall, I think this book is worth it and I like a lot of the character but this one did drag more than the others and it did help that it is the longest page count so far.

My rating system
1 - Did not enjoy
2 - Not irredeemable but has too many flaws to say I enjoyed
3 - Enjoyed it
4 - Great book but didn't love it
5 - Amazing book

Ken Lui really knows how to craft a tear jerker.

I’m ready for my heart to be shattered in the finale. Typically I find myself wanting to read and explore other fantasy lands, but I’ve never been this raptured to keep going. And it’s not because of how cool or fantastical it is (even though it is all those things) it’s just wanting to come back to all these great characters and their beautiful ideals.
