I picked this up because I'm a big fan of C.L. Wilson's Tairen Soul books. Overall a good holiday romance collection. I was disappointed that the last few stories were just excerpts of longer stories. Especially the Winter King because I was really into it!

I request this on NetGalley because I'd read C.L.Wilson's Tairen Soul series, and I really love it. And that's why her novella in ts anthology that become my favorite! The novellas have same theme, holiday, magic and how love can heal the wound. The hero and heroine also, somehow typical. With the heroine have troubled past or simply had problem, and it was the hero who solved the problem. I don't mind with this, especially for the 3rd novella, by Ellisa Wilds which is less favorite.

C.L.Wilson novella had a heroine, Kat with hapephobic, fear for touch everyone due her abusive past and her hot Thor-alike guardian angel, Micah. While the ending is too rushed, I can't simply resist the beauty of Wilson's writing style. Exquisite, yet sad. Make me want to cry for Kat. This novella show Wilson's class, that she simply can weave magic by her words

Erica Ridley's novella is unique. First I think it had historical setting, for the hero are treasure hunter and there was magic. Yet, the setting is in modern time. While I appraise the idea of the immortal castle and the princess who trapped within, and the "groundhog day" theme alike, again I don't like the ending. Too easy, and left no explanation for why the princess had been trapped for the first time. But, I do like how Ridley can mix modern and historical writing style.

Ellisa Wilds's novella, like what I had said before, is a less favorite. It had alien and a little tidbit of Sumerian myth. Yet, the heroine is too much alike with Wilson's heroine, both are gifted with extraordinary power of music. Also the hero is .. well not lovable like the heroes from two previous novella. This novella kinda disappoint me because the story end abruptly.

Well, I do enjoy this anthology. Also if you can't wait for Wilson's The Winter King, there are a scene teaser, contain prologue and chapter 1 that make me so excited!
