I loved this story! This one had a little more magic woven in and I was completely enchanted. Usually, this doesn't top my favorite fairy tale list, but the way the author wove it all together had me dying to see what would happen on the next page. The Fairy Godmothers played a little more of a role in this story. It was just fantastic !

Briar and Gordon's story was so sweet. I love that even though they aren't considered the typical "beauties" that heroes and heroines are described as in most fairytales, to each other, they are the most beautiful people because of their love for one another. That's not to say that they are ugly by any means, but everyone finds true beauty in those they love. The fairytale twist was amusing and Doc was a great addition. Briar and Gordon had reactions to the scheme that were real and this further presented them as caring people who could easily be someone a reader knows in real life. I loved the development of their relationship and the sincerity of the story.

Caroline Lee has written another great story.

Briar wants her own true love after her best friend Zelle got married. She just needs to find a guy who will love her for her and not just her delicious baked goods.

Gordon has had his eye on Briar for a long while. He hasn't really spoken to her because he gets tongue tied in her presence. He wants to open a restaurant and her desserts would make her the perfect partner for him.

The story had fairy godmothers, mettling grandmothers, friends and a sweet happily ever after.

I received this book for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

4 stars for Briar and Gordon. 1 star (or negative 1000) for the bitch of a grandmother. I really really hate controlling people, it really taints an otherwise cute story for me.
