Better on every level than it's predecessor, this book is an exuberant esoteric adventure yarn that is a quick and delightful read. While not a literary or lyrical masterpiece, the somewhat bare-bones, grab-and-go storytelling is a lot of fun from its chills to its lovably near-camp melding of Native mythology with Lovecraftian cosmic horror.
