A great quarantine listen. My interest in finding out the truth kept me focused.

A footballer is poisoned, seemingly at random. Then the football stadium is bombed during the first match after his death. Are both incidences connected, will there be more deaths? Tony is in hospital after an altercation with one of the patients at Broadfield Hospital and a fire axe! Can he help Carol and her team get solve the cases before more die? We also get to meet Tony's mum in this book and she's a nasty piece of work!

Geweldig boek!

The series has started to slow down at this point not in a bad way just not as great as the first few books. A cold in-site into Tony’s past very chilling and tear jerking. The plot was very slow. Still a brilliant book just wish Tony was more involved.

One of the best Tony Hill/Carol Jordan books. Brought to life new aspects of the characters.

Started this, but didn't get into it and it had to get back to the library. Might come back to it, but it isn't initially as gripping as her books usually are.

*Finished, finally. Good in the end, but not her usual grab-you-from-the-first M.O.

It's been a while since I've had the chance to catch up with Carol Jordan and Tony Hill, the main characters in one of Val McDermid's ongoing series. They're just as broken and fascinating as ever and Mcdermid's style is fast-paced and engrossing.
