This is a great series. I love books where there is a strong heroine and this series definitely has one. In a time where girls couldn't be knights one girl was brave enough to try it. Loved it!

Once again it was a delight to be brought back to this world! The audiobook was quick and it was nice to hear the story of Alanna again as I prepare to go through the entire series together!!

Honnestly, this is literature for all ages at its finest. This was a favorite of mine when I was growing up. I related to Alanna so much. I loved the story then, and I was nervous for this reread because, more often than not, when I reread favorite from when I was younger, I don't like them as much.

That was not the case with this book! I found myself enjoying it, probably just as much. Honnestly I think any person at any age could read the series and enjoy it. I find Alanna so refreshing. She is authentically young, and feels so real. You get to watch her grow, and I still find myself relating to her, but in a way that's different now. I'm so happy I reread the first book and greatly look forward to rereading the rest.
