I related a lot to the main character’s high school experience which made this a really emotional read. The only thing I didn’t really like was the kids having to solve everything on their own with minimal adult support (though the MC’s mom was amazing).

I fucking envy the relationship between Aled and Frances. And love the relationship of Frances and her mother.
Ich mag alles an dem Buch. Auch wenn es eigentlich die ganze Zeit bergab geht steht man am Ende nicht hoffnungslos da and i really liked that.

Alle Probleme wurden so schon relatable dargestellt.
All in all einfach sehr erfrischend ein young Adult Buch zu lesen, in dem nicht alles wie kompletter Bullshit erscheint.

(Habe actually am Ende bissle geweint. War alles too close to home..)

(Second read: damn, gerade meine alte Review gelesen und ja ich glaube I was really going through shit als ich es zum ersten Mal gelesen habe.
Well, das ist wahrscheinlich immer noch so ups)

It felt like reading a long lost diary. It's personal, it's nerdy, it's... everything I could have ever asked in a book. While it did put me in a weird headspace, I'm still grateful to have found it. It's like being hugged. It's like being understood.

This book was pretty underwhelming since my expectations were high oops lol. Maybe its because I've read 'I was born for this' first and didn't enjoy it either.

This book owns my heart. I love each and every character, and all of their stories. I think the way school and post secondary education was represented was awesome. It felt so just almost fever dreamy feeling recognized in a book. I think its often ignored how school makes people feel. We value our grades over ourselves and lose ourselves trying to get them. Academic anxiety, and depression stemming from it is extremely real. I like the topics this book covered and its now my all time favourite book. Also thank you for writing a book where a girl and boy can just be friends♡

I have the most respect and appreciation for Alice Oseman and their work. You quite literally are changing many peoples lives with these stories in ways I’m sure you never imagined possible.
