Simultaneously exactly and not at all what I expected. I wish I would have read the physical copy rather than listening to the audio book, so might have to do a re-read in the future.

Content Warnings

I had fun reading/listening to this one. It reminded me of a fun, cheesy horror flick. Not super realistic but very enjoyable for a light read. Lots of blood and sort of a [b:Pet Sematary|33124137|Pet Sematary|Stephen King|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1480069533s/33124137.jpg|150017] vibe, except with kids.

i refuse to be a parent so yall can say i will never understand all you want, but i know damn well i would never go to these extremes to save my already-decomposing child. i'd choose the grieving process every time, thank you very much.

i was so bored after people realized what was going on. everyone was irrational and annoying and i couldn't stand stupid doug saying "just peachy" every two pages.
