Mrs. Marple's friend finds a body in their library. No One seems to know how it got there. Mrs. Marple is on the case. I loved every minute of this mystery!

This was a really good Miss Marple story and I had fun reading it. Objectively speaking, it is probably the best Miss Marple that I read, it's just not my favourite. But Miss Marple gets to shine in this story with her comparisons and her knowledge of the human nature.
Also worthy of note is that this book starts pretty much immediately with the finding of the body instead of severeal chapters of build up before the murder happens, which was also very nice for getting quickly into the story.

this was one of the more emotionally difficult Agatha Christie mysteries to get thru for me so far, but I'm glad I stuck with it! I enjoy Christie's writing overall, but it's hard to enjoy all of her work knowing both her social positions and how those positions often get reflected in her writing. more than in her other work I felt as though the victim was spoken down upon, even/especially by seemingly more sympathetic characters.

The Body is the Library By Agatha Christie is a cozy mystery set in England. A body is found in the body of a local Colonel and it's up to our usual cast of characters to solve the mystery.

my first Agetha Christie book and I found the character of Miss Marple super underwhelming. I like her humour but she feels like a side character that appears sporadically instead of a driving force of the story. Not very satisfying to read when the reader never has enough information to figure out the killer themselves. The vibe is that Miss Marple magically knows all these things because she's the Magical Miss Marple and women love to gossip? Also found this book had too many characters and full names mentioned that it gets a little confusing. I have two Poirot books to try out and suspect I will like those one more as I do like Agetha Christie's writing style but the characters and plot of this book just fell flat for me
