We’re going to hell and not everyone will make it out alive.

Alex and Dawes are are determined to bring Darlington back from hell.  The problem is, they have to learn how to do so.  Enlisting the help of Turner, Tripp, and Mercy, the group figures out the riddle to the gate and makes the descent.

As expected, nothing goes according to plan and demons follow them back.  In a race to close the gate, the group finds them facing off against vampires and demons, while also trying to solve a murder.

In this wildly chaotic story, we delve deeper into the lives and pasts of Alex, Darlington, Dawes, Turner, Tripp, and Mercy.

Lauren Fortang and Michael David Axtell bring this story to life in a captivating way, leaving you wanting more. I’ve listened to both Ninth House and He’ll Bent on Audible, and I think it just adds to the experience.

Brandon Sanderson has his famed “Sander-lanche” but there needs to be a term for Leigh Bardugo’s roller coaster. This is such an excellent part 2 of 3!! A lot of times part 2’s leave you with more questions than answers, kind of like a lull in the story that’s just meant to be a set up for the main event in part 3. But Hellbent does not feel like that at all. It grips you just like Ninth House, and the mystery is just as multi-layered. If you liked Ninth House, 10/10 you will love Hellbent.

Yeah I fackin love this series, so good, Alex is such an awesome antihero!! I’m so pumped to see where this goes in the next installation and am thrilled that this didn’t disappoint! The writing is fantastic, the plot is so engaging, I will say the book is maybe a little longer than necessary, but man oh man did I love it anyway!

i definitely think i prefer the first book more, but i did have a blast reading this. Leigh Bardugo is just so clever at creating a perfect atmosphere and setting with her books, and i really think she suits the gritty, dark adult genre more than she suits the ya genre (although i love six of crows so much). i'm very excited to see what else Alex and Darlington and Dawes have to deal with, and will definitely be picking up the final instalment.

i also went to a book event to celebrate the launch of hell bent and got to meet Leigh! had a blast with my friends and got six of crows signed <3
