Aright, so after Volume One pulled me in, Volume Two absolutely did not let go! The art remains absolutely gorgeous,—each page perfectly capturing the emotions and tension between the characters. Each page feels like an emotional rollercoaster you didn’t know you needed.
The story deepens and gets even messier—in the best way possible. Persephone is no longer just figuring things out; she’s starting to push back, and the power dynamics between her and Hades get real. The layers of trauma, trust issues, and complicated feelings make it clear this isn’t some fairy tale romance. It’s messy, vulnerable, and honestly, way more interesting for it.
Side characters are still doing their thing—scheming, gossiping, and causing chaos—because what’s Olympus without a little drama, right? The political games and toxic relationships add texture and stakes that keep you hooked.
I’m still not typically a graphic novel reader, but this series just may change my mind. [a:Rachel Smythe|21592354|Rachel Smythe|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1704571112p2/21592354.jpg] handles difficult themes with depth and care, making this more than just a myth retelling.
If Volume One was good, Volume Two is even better—richer, more intense, and absolutely worth your time. If you haven’t started this series, do yourself a favor and start now!

Theis series continues to be a guilty pleasure for me. I’m generally not into romance, especially of the YA variety, but it’s impossible for me to dislike these. The stories are sometimes funny, sometimes sweet, often relatable, and the art is amazing.

I got it on hold from the public library. I think this series is like Given. In that I'm not really invested but want to see how the story unfolds/ends. It's to the point I could just do a book version of those 'I watch the first & last episode of x series' videos but like I also want to know how it unfolds. And w/ both series mentioned, I can't discern whether I like it or hate it.

Also w/ both, some of the characters look similar enough to where I'm getting them mixed up. Or straight up can't tell who it is until a few pages later. In this instance, I thought it was her mom that was taking the fur coat and not Hestia. Also I feel like the age gap shouldn't have been made so blatant to the characters. Because I know that they're end game. I feel it would've been better for Hades to just go 'fuck it, Idc.'

Anyways the hold for vol 3 just came in today (7/11).

Really beautiful art but I didn’t enjoy this installment as much as the last. It just felt like not a lot happened and there was just some wheel spinning to get to the next volume.
