When we left off in the third book, Opal, the gang was breaking into the Daedalus headquarters to rescue Bethany. As they're making their escape, Blake shows his true colors by betraying them again. This time it's Kat that doesn't make it out. Fast forward to Origin, and Daemon is going nuts knowing that his enemies have Kat, and what they must be doing to her. His brilliant plan is to get locked up with her. Luc has promised that if Daemon brings him something that can only be found where they are holding Kat, he will make sure the two of them escape.

***Spoilers***
The people in charge have told Kat that sometimes the humans that are changed by the Lux are unstable. In order to determine if that is the case with Kat, they want her to use the source. After sending in countless hybrids, that Kat refuses to fight (so she is basically beaten) they send in Blake. She is already angry with him for his part in her capture, that betrayal, and a few snarky remarks makes Kat lose it. She doesn't plan on killing him, but everything she has been through catches up in that moment. They also told her that 10% of the Luxen want to take over Earth, at first she doesn't believe them, until she is shown proof. Daemon shows up, and is forced to heal Kat after the inflict a life threatening injury on her for the purpose of "research". At that point he is forced to start turning other (idiot) human volunteers who injure themselves. After successfully creating more than one hybrid, Daemon is their golden boy. What neither of them ever expected was the existence of the Origins. The offspring of a Luxen, and Hybrid. Their powers are beyond even that of the Lux. Kat's guard Archer is one of them, and eventually helps them escape once they have the LH-11 that Luc wanted. Once they escape, the three of them meet up with Luc, Matthew, Dee, Dawson, Paris, Beth, Ash & Andrew. Matthew reveals their location, saying he wants to save the others by sacrificing Daemon and Kat, like he did Dawson and Beth before. He doesn't live long, and then they must run. The DOD shuts down the interstate out of Vegas, causing a huge traffic jam, and trapping their group. Without a plan, but refusing to go back, they decide to reveal themselves to the humans, hoping for a big enough distraction to escape. What they don't count on is the DOD killing humans, in order to get to them. They end up losing Paris, Ash, and Andrew before escaping to a cabin in Idaho. Once there they all relax a little, while making plans for their next move. When thousands of Luxen descend on their planet in the middle of the night, all of the Lux in their group are drawn to them. Kat is confused, she doesn't know if Daemon has a choice in which side he chooses, and neither does she.

Heartbreaking. Everything Kat and Daemon went through, losing 2 more important people to them, being betrayed by someone they trusted. The end, omg the ending!!

Lots of activity and drama in book #4 in this awesome series. Also switches between Katy and Daemons point of view so we get to learn more about how Daemon thinks. Great book! Can't wait to read the final book.

I have loved the Lux series from book one due to the two main characters, but this one blew me away with the plot. I would go back and re-rate the other books to 4-star because this one is that much better. But I won't:) I was sweating through the first half, and OMFGing the second half. It's ridiculous how much I love Daemon and Katy. It's up there with my Rose and Dimitri love.

Such a rollercoaster

You have me here. I AM so invested in the series there is no going back anymore. Love, Love Love all of this. I did notice some things that are kind of obvious to human logic I guess. For One the opal thing that Made them all powerful like an added battery. Why did none of them thought they could use it together? Like keep them inbetween connected palms and boom you have a powerful duo. But then again it is book. Also I don't believe Kat is holding up this good and Deamon neither. Yeah yeah i know the book kind of logic but really i would have enjoyed some other freakout moments also. And besides all that damn what they did to Kat on the second healing test. That is gruesome. Cant wait to find out more, but that will also mean that I will be done with these awesome guys which will put me in a hell of a book hangover.
