This was a really fun read, especially to revisit as an adult. I love mythology and fairytales of all kinds as a kid, and I had a kid's edition of 1001 arabian nights, but it didn't have a lot of these stories in them, likely for the adult content. So things could be adapted for kids by just saying characters "fell in love" but not all of it.
This adaptation is missing the 2 most famous stories, Ali Baba and the 40 thieves and Aladdin and the Lanp. I looked it up and likely it's bc those stories weren't in the original 1001 Nights but added in the 1700s. Still, they are popular for a reason so it would have been nice to include them.
My personal favorite story was Zumurrad and Nur al-Din.
