Well, I can definitely say that this book was unlike anything I've read before.

The plot of this book was the main reason I picked it up and also why I kept reading. It was very intriguing and mysterious. Throughout the whole book, Jason (the original one) was very confused and so was I, but I think that was the point. The large mystery of "what the hell is happening?" is what kept me interested and kept me going. I loved the concept of
travelling through the multiverse
, but I didn't exactly understand how it all worked. I think that part lacked a bit of logic and we could have done with a bit more information about it.

The characters in this book felt very realistic, not just 2D people who where either good or bad. They definitely added a lot to the story. I was quite upset when
Amanda left Jason
, but I suppose it had to happen for the storyline to go on.

Overall, I would say it was a good book and it definitely made me question my identity and reality to a certain extent. Mind-boggling stuff.

Wow - this book came out swinging and didn't stop for a single moment until the very last page. My pulse was pounding from the outset and this book ratchets up the tension more and more until you can barely handle it. I can't even really figure out how to categorize this book, it almost feels like a mashup of Inception and Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness - a true sci-fi thriller.
At no point could I have guessed where this book was going, it definitely had that major captivating element where you couldn't put it down and just wanted to keep turning the pages, even if it was 3am and you had to be up for work in a matter of a few short hours (not like I am speaking from experience or anything...).
Despite this being firmly in the land of sci-fi, this book is also full of emotion and heart. Our main character, Jason, feels a level of desperation as this book barrels towards its conclusion that anyone who has experienced true and authentic love can relate to. It was simultaneously heartbreaking and also deeply inspiring. It raises so many questions about what you know about your life and what you would do to find your way back to your life if it got ripped away from you in one traumatic evening. The reader is cheering along as Jason truly goes to the ends of the world (er, multiple worlds?) to try to get his wife, son, home, and job back.
I think fairly obvious here but this one really had me gripped. I finished it in two sittings and honestly it could have easily been all at once if I hadn't started it at midnight.
Yes, this book can be dark, but the journey is totally worth it.

An amazing and entralling book. Concepts that I wouldn't even be able to begin wrapping my head around but I do enjoy entertaining the theory.
The ending being completely mysterious is both amazing and incredibly painful, I want to know what world Charlie brought them to!!!

"But life is imperfect. We make the wrong choices.
So we end up living in a state of perpetual regret, and is there anything worse?"

Similar to one of my favorite books, The Midnight Library, this book challenges you to reflect on your life and the decisions you make which shape reality. The protagonist gets to witness how his life would have turned out differently if he had made different decisions in the past, which makes him appreciate what he has more.
