Ugh, Rockstar novellas.. sign me up.
Pure Wicked was about Jesse and Reese's love. Now these two were a wild ride. Whether it was Reese dealing with her family and her own ex-boyfriend or it was Reese meeting Jesse and feeling the instant spark. Everything was crazy from start to finish.
Not even low-key, but I absolutely hated Reese's family. God, they all deserved to be bitch slapped by someone (mainly me). It was complete horseshit for them to think Reese should be completely fine with her little sister's engagement.. to her ex-boyfriend. Yikes!
Yeah, so long story short - they were all on my shit list.
Enter Jesse, who is her fake boyfriend for this horrible wedding. They were a really cute couple and I was happy for her to find happiness. Things definitely flew by in this novella and I really wished that it was longer. In the end, I'm intrigued enough to read the rest of the series.. whenever I can.

Pure Wicked is a treat for the fans of the Wicked Lovers Series.
Jesse McCall was introduced to readers in Decadent, book two of the Wicked Lovers Series. A Rockstar, bad boy with the reputation to go with. A man who got what he wanted, when he wanted. Fully indulging in his lifestyle, Jessie’s life was on a dangerous path. Fast forward 10 years, tragedy strikes very close to his heart. While cleaning up his own act, his friend and band mate, continued to walk a fine line between life and death, and lost.
In a moment of unexpected chivalry, while laying low, Jesse’s eyes open to what he wants and truly needs in life. A changed man, Jesse learns what love and real passion truly are. Like all men of the Wicked Lovers series, they fall hard and fast. The chemistry is intense and off the charts. The passion is wickedly sexy and scorches the pages. I loved seeing how some time and growing up made a bad boy into a wickedly good man. Shayla Black knows how to raise the temperature and cause a reader’s heart to race.

Wow what a great instant love story with heart and laughs. Loved Jesse (man what a blast from the past) and his sweet sexy baker. Can't wait for what's next

3.5 Stars This was a cute short read!
I don't remember to much about Jesse other then he was an asshole to Kimber, I think he cheats on her in an earlier book? He was super sweet in this one though. This was MEGA insta-love, but I stilled liked it.
I wish we wouldn't have had to have the continuous mentions of all the woman he had slept with though, threesomes, fivesomes, politician's daughters, porn stars (seriously gross). It was a bit overkill for such a short book. I mean we get it, he was a slut...geesh!
I love this series though, and I love this author!

Sweet and sexy, a rockstar finds the woman he needs to fill his life. This novella somehow manages to still feel like you read a full novel while being both fulfilling and erotic.
Bristol has gotten the short end of the stick recently with love. Having to be a witness and part of the wedding of her sister with her ex-boyfriend isn’t something she can stomach easily. But even though most people would feel slighted, she still manages to be the caring person that she is, still supportive of her sister in spite of it all. But that doesn’t mean that it hasn’t affected her, made her feel less worthy, and made her want to step back from love for a long while. That is, until the sexy stranger becomes her white knight when she needs it. Jesse is in hiding, realizing that what his life has been–the constant party of the rock’n’roll lifestyle–isn’t him at all. That’s he’s lost himself to the fame. He certainly isn’t expecting to find himself in a small town, let alone rediscovering who he wants to be within the allure of the beautiful brunette.
Well-written and charming, you’ll fall in love with Jesse and Bristol’s story. As I mentioned, it truly read like a novel. The build-up, character detail, and love story were more than enough to bring you right in. Ms. Black sincerely has a way with writing love scenes that make you tingle, and in a way that enhances the story. I can’t wait for more in the series.
