That CG issue suuuuuuuuuuuuuucks. I still can't believe it's real and not a prank thing.

Really messy story and the characters didn't feel quite right. I managed to read about 50 pages before I gave up.

By now I'm clearly just reading this to complete Morrison's run on Batman.

Loved the idea but it was a bit confusing at times. Maybe I was just tired when I was reading it but there seemed to be gaps in the storyline or at least places where it was a bit rushed. And I'm not totally impressed with Batman's new attitude: he certainly has changed. I do prefer the stories that deal more with his inner turmoil and the detailed detective work but this one doesn't really do that much. It rushes over all of that and focuses on... well, I'm not really sure. It's not the villains since that's a bit hazy too. I guess it's the infrastructure of the organization and its purpose, which makes sense but does not make for much entertainment. Hoping the next ones get back to Batman.

Some parts were fun to read, but on the whole this was disjointed and confusing and does require some knowledge of the Batman universe to understand. I had to push myself to finish it.

Typical Morrison. One part engaging characters and a promising set-up and three parts what the f&^% are you high?! Read an afterword he wrote for a Mark Waid collection the other day in which he whined about being pigeon holed as the crazy, obscure, out-there writer. I keep waiting for him to actually do something different, but he never does. His plots are always so crazy that at some point I suppose you have to respect the man's balls, but All-Star Superman, as amazing as it was is really the only great thing he's done. The rest is overrated. Although I haven't read his Invisibles or Animal Man.

Fantastic team-up books, lot of globe-trotting, and one of my favorite Batsuit designs. What's not to like?
