I see what the hype was all about, I still am not a sports romance fan but I will definitely be reading the rest of the books in this series.

i really liked this book. there was so much emotional depth to each of the main characters and I completely did not expect it, but it made the book so much better. The characters felt like real people, with real issues, and that was amazing.
The chemistry between the leads was also off the charts, i always love when they can’t stand each other first and have so much banter, only to realise they are super attracted to the other and so on and so forth. It just works every time.
The middle of the book dragged a little for me, and i HATED the third act conflict. It is always dumb and contrived, and despite vaguely understanding the reasoning, it still felt like both of the main characters were being obtuse. Especially considering the fact that they talked so deeply about their insecurities and trauma, and particularly how Zanders talked about being in therapy for so long, you would think that they would be able to spot their self-sabotage but no. Anyway, it resolved in a satisfying way, and I just liked all the characters too much to be put off by that. Also the spice was great so can’t complain about that haha.
definitely would recommend this book if you like sports romances, especially ones with depth to them.
