I am currently eerily singing “The Hanging Tree” to myself. This whole series has always spoken to me about the great need to stand up and fight for your freedom even against seemingly insurmountable odds. The timing of this book was great (currently living in DC during our armed occupation) and filled me revolutionary fervor. “You were capable of imagining a different future. And maybe it won’t be realized today, maybe not in our lifetime. Maybe it will take generations. We’re all part of a continuum. Does that make it pointless?” And as a long time reader of this series - I loved seeing the connections of all the characters I’ve learned about over the decades.
