4.49 AVERAGE

4.5 stars. Great finish to a truly great series. Some of the POV characters were a little weak, but there were definite hype moments and good battle scenes. Couldn’t have asked for much more

Just brilliant

A satisfying conclusion to a great series that I am very fond of. ☺

Reading the first chapters of this one I realized something: I'm just burned out with The Expanse and its stupid humans fighting petty wars.

For those who came this far one thing is obvious: the authors were making stuff up as the series went, and unfortunately that lack of cohesion and constant regurgitated plotlines with some baddies trying to control the universe just made the series lost more and more steam as it went.

In Leviathan Falls all the human conflict side of it, I just couldn´t care less. Humanity is about to go extinct, trying to fight beings from another space-time dimension and here we are, trying to kill each other... even the characters' moments of introspection and their dynamics lacked that engaging investiment I had from other books.

I was reading to get to the stuff that really interested me: the protomolecule creators and their destroyers. And suffice to say, I think all that was handled really well. We get to know more about them, but not tooo much since we are talking about beings appreciately different from humans and beings from another dimension.
All the conflict with those beings was pretty cool and fit very adequately with the themes of the series. And the ending felt very apt and suitable to close the whole arc of the story.

Overall, I still like and recommend the series.
I just wished it was a few books shorter.

A highly awaited end to a series I've loved throughout the years. Like anyone else finishing a long series, expectations were very high even when you tried to lower them yourself out of fear of being disappointed. And I can for sure say that I was not disappointed. The ending of the story's conflict and the ending each main character got made complete sense and was in character for them. It satisfied and hurt my heart in the right ways. However, I really wished we got to know more about some of the other characters as the novel was a tad bit shorter than the other ones. Because of that, I felt part of the ending was a bit rushed. Again, I was not disappointed, I just wish we got a tiny bit more time with this saga.

Special edition reprints of the series when? :P
I will be looking into and looking forward to other books written by the authors.

This review really represents the whole of the Expense series. This entire series represents the best science fiction has to offer. It is smart and treats it’s audience with a respectful intelligence. It is reminiscent of what science fiction use to be and should be: philosophical, political, scientific, and profound. I haven’t found a series this good since the Hyperion Cantos and don’t expect to, again, until Corey (fingers crossed) begins publishing their next series. I can’t recommend this series enough!!

Ive been sitting with this end for a while so sad that my journey with this series is now over. I enjoyed the end a lot. I liked the closure of it all. What a great series!!!!
