HIGHLY recommend

This was a deep, real, and honest memoir by probably the greatest female tennis players, ever. She is a local girl to me who also went to my alma mater. Local heroine on so many levels.

Since Billie Jean is of my parents' generation, I didn't know all of the amazing things she did for social justice including everything from equal pay to LBGT+ rights to DEI.

My biggest takeaway was her reclaiming her power at the age of 51. I was of a similar age when I did the same. It was the best thing ever for both of us!

What a great book to end the year with. Inspiring and a great reminder of the hard fought struggle for equality and the obligation we all have to keep up the fight.

Enjoyed learning about the history of tennis through BJK’s eyes. What a legend. Crazy to think about gender discrimination etc. and how it wasn’t that long ago. That the things she described happened. Enjoyed the book and glad I randomly picked it up.

i started reading this on a whim after listening to a podcast episode about the battle of the sexes and holy shit was i not expecting it to affect me this much
