A selection of 6 books with a common component, a lachrymatory. I have read books by several of these authors but have now been introduced to a few more. An enjoyable read. My comments on each book follows.
Iron tears
4 stars
Always good to be introduced to a new supernatural. I have never read a book that mentioned ferromancers before, so was interesting to learn about them and the Scourge. Well written, introducing characters that will be followed in the series. Good editing as well.

Pricked by thorns
5 stars
Love Nicollete as an author. This teaser intro to a new series does its job, I want to start reading the series. I feel so sorry for Catherine, she has a gift but is made to feel she is mad because of it. And who is her new husband or should I say what? I suppose I will just have to read the next book to find out!

The Demigod Dilemma
4 stars
An interesting investigation team, with a bit of magic. An easy quick read.

The seer’s eye
3 stars
Have read other books in this series and enjoyed them, this one did not catch me. Also many sentence and spelling mistakes.

Rain through her fingers
4 stars
Took quite a while to get into this book, found the beginning a bit confusing. Lots of mythical creatures make an appearance. The ending leaves you wanting more.

The Alchemist’s Tomb
5 stars
Have read other books by this author and have loved them too. An intriguing start to a series would like to read more about these two characters. Have not read another book that relates to automatons being so ‘human’, interesting concept.
