BOOK: Spidersight
AUTHOR: Tirzah Hawkins
PLOT: 5-year-old Missy has what others dub an imaginary friend named Fred. Fred is a spider that she's grown to love and she's also followed by thousands of smaller spiders. The name Fred causes fear in her mother and she decides to put Missy through multiple tests to see if Missy has a neurological, or vision issue that's causing Missy to see Fred and the other spiders, because she refuses to believe that they're real. Soon, Missy learns that she has the power to send her spiders to hurt others if they've upset her. She finds this out when her eye doctor has a reaction to a spider bite. Her father's boss and her own mother fall prey to the spiders as well. The more people that are attacked, the more her parents realize that what they once thought was imaginary, may actually be real. I'm arachnophobic and still decided to tackle this novel and I'm glad I did! The book plays on your anxieties, it played on your fears, and left you on the edge of your seat grasping the book with white knuckles. I absolutely loved it and made me an instant fan! I can't wait to read more from Tirzah!

Such an amazing book! This is the first story by the writer I’ve read and it did not disappoint! I couldn’t put it down, and when I did? I was ready to go back to it. The story was captivating, the characters where interesting, and the plot was thought inducing. A definite recommendation from me and I can’t wait to read more from this talented author.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book was so entertaining I literally could not put it down. This book isn’t my usual read but I needed something different to get me out of my slump I’m in and it was great! I’ve never heard of anything like this and it was refreshing to have a new idea of a book. Missy is all the little girls who ever felt different or left out and only try to do the right thing, I can definitely relate to that. I do think she seemed a little older than she actually is but doesn’t really make a difference to me. Don’t read if you have arachnophobia lol.

As much as I really don't enjoy spiders (they stay in there space, I stay in mine) I really enjoyed this book. A cosmic spider who feeds on a little girl's anger. The little girl who is the only one who can see the spiders, as they slowly take control of her life. Imagine if your imaginary friend turned about to be truly evil.
