Well this book and series is finished, for once where the deaths of characters have made me go ‘whatever.’ The death of the main villan of Teren kinda got to me as he redeemed himself in the end and it almost got my water works running. I had a hunch that Violetta was going to be revived but its nice to see the close sisterhood of Adelina and Violetta.
The self sacrifice thing is a noble thing but I wasn’t expecting Adelina to be revived in the end. Although I was sort of suprised to see her back, the consellation that develops is vague? Also I thought it to be cool if Adelina came back as a ghost one eyed white wolf that overlooks the kingdom. But I get the same generic thing where she returns for Magiano, although I was satisfied it just wasn’t as fitting for me. All in all a great trilogy.

Solid ending to the series but I so wish it had been longer!

I think this was a pretty great conclusion. This is a great villain/antihero origin story, especially if you’re in the YA age range. I read the first two books years ago (bc I suck at finishing series) but I’m glad I didn’t give up on this one. I think I originally gave The Rose Society 5 stars, but if I had reread it I would’ve probably lowered it to 4 stars.
I thought the underworld aspect was really cool. Something random that I LOVED were the epigraphs (is that what they’re called??) at the beginning of each chapter. It was such a simple way of making the world seem like it had real history
Idk I know this trilogy wasn’t perfect but it glad I finally came back to it to see how it ended
